5 Essentials to Pack When Going to the Philippines

going to the philippinesGoing to the Philippines is always pleasurable because no matter which city you go to, there’s always a beautiful beach nearby or beautiful scenery to take in. Imagine yourself sipping on a cold one with your Filipina girlfriend on your side, basking in the glory of mother nature. What a vacation would that make, wouldn’t it? But, if you’re one who has never visited the Philippines before, what do you pack when going on such an epic sounding vacation? You can pack anything you’d like but you should never forget these 5 essentials:

Sunscreen

There are only two kinds of weathers in the Philippines: rainy and sunny. Of course, you don’t want to go during the rainy season because, who would want to do that? Your best bet is to go during the sunny season so you can enjoy the beach even more. This is where sunscreen comes in. The Philippine heat is very different – it’s humid and hot at the same time. You can really feel the sun especially in beaches.

Empty Water Bottle

You’re going to want to take it anywhere and everywhere. It’s not that foreigners have a problem with the water in the Philippines but it’s more on staying hydrated. You should have your own water bottle to take anywhere you go so you can have your own water to sip on. You can buy your own water bottle once you arrive too but if you have room in your bag, you can save a few bucks by just bringing your own.

Light Shirts

Hey. The Philippines is a tropical country! And whats more appropriate to wear in a tropical country than light t-shirts? Make sure to pack a good number of shirts because you’re going to want to change what you’re wearing when you get sweaty. Also, most people in the Philippines just wear light shirts or regular shirts even when going to nice restaurants so you being out of place or informal won’t be an issue. You may want to pack one or two “nice” shirts, just in case.

Flip Flops

Filipinos love wearing flip flops. They wear it almost anywhere! Famous brands from countries like Brazil have even introduced some of their specially designed flip flops to the country because they know how much Filipinos love to wear them! It’s like a staple and most Filipinos can pull off pairing whatever clothes they have with flip flops – dresses, jeans, long skirts, anything.

Handkerchief or Small Towel

If you’re not a handkerchief kind of person, you have to start to become one because if you’re going on a date and the temperature is rising, you’ll need something to wipe off the sweat with. Right about this time, you’re hanky or small towel is going to come in handy so do not underestimate its usefulness.

Remember, you can pack anything but you should never forget one of these because they’re essential when going to the Philippines. All of these items will make your vacation more enjoyable and less of a hassle.
