Is Your Relationship Staining Your Career Success?

Have you ever heard of the saying about your career and your relationship? Many believe that if you have achieved career success, it’s most likely because you don’t have a love life or your love life suffers. If you have a blossoming love life, then your career is probably not where you want it to be.

Signs Your Relationship Is Jeopardizing Your Career Success

There are those, however, that believe one can have it all. The problem with this is that it’s really a challenge to balance both career and love. It’s simply a fact. But, the right person can make the balancing act less effortful. Not all of us are lucky enough to find someone who supports us in every way. If you’re in a relationship, here are the signs that say your career success may be in jeopardy:

1. Your partner is not emotionally supportive.

Your partner’s emotional support is going to play a big role in your career success. After a long day of work and, probably, a whole lot of stress, your body and your emotional state won’t be able to recover when you go home to someone who is very nagging.

2. Your partner defines “quality of life” in a different way.

No matter what your career is, think about your end goal. Is it the same as your partner’s? Or are you on different pages? It’s very important for you to know what your partner’s end goal is because it’s possible that you may not be reaching for the same things in life and that’s causing both of you to NOT reach your full potential, both professionally and in the area of love.

3. Your partner is not supportive at home.

Working females experience stress because they are still thinking about chores and taking care of the kids. However, contrary to what a lot of people think, men can also experience burning out. This is why it’s important to have a home environment that’s equally supportive of the man and woman of the house. The home has to feel like home – relaxing and happy.

If you and your partner lack support for each other or if you’re not on the same page about your end goal, you can always do something about it. The first step is to recognize the weaknesses in your relationship and then you can work through each one. If you believe that you can have it all, love and career, then go for it.
