Rom-Com is term that’s short for Romantic Comedy. But, what has this got to do with anything?

Because the genre has made its way to Japanese TV programs and silver screens, it has played its role in capturing the minds and hearts of Japanese women. In Rom-Coms, the leading man (a dashing foreigner), always has the guts to profess his love for the leading lady without being ashamed of it. He shows it loudly and proudly and this may be the reason why Japanese women gravitate towards foreign men more for romantic relationships.

They think that they’re going to be in a Rom-Com in real life.

#2 Difference: The Confidence in Speaking a Language.

Think about this for a minute. Have you ever wondered why their aren’t a lot of foreign women with Japanese men but there are a lot of foreign men with Japanese women? What could the reason be behind this?
